In brief: Located at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire, in the heart of Provence, Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire is an independent 35-room and villa hotel with a spa, restaurant and outdoor swimming pools. Like many independent hotels, the team does not have a dedicated Revenue Management position. Chloé Gellé, Front Office Manager, explains how Revbell helped them move from fixed seasonal pricing to a dynamic pricing strategy in just 15 minutes a day.
My name is Chloé Gellé and I am Front Office Manager at Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire. I joined the team five years ago.
Could you tell us about Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire?
It is a luxury hotel located at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire, in the heart of Provence, with 35 rooms and villas. We have a spa, a restaurant, as well as outdoor swimming pools.
Before using Revbell, we had a fixed pricing strategy based on four seasons. This was frustrating because we had very little flexibility to respond to changes in supply and demand. We are open all year round, so we really needed to improve occupancy during some of the more challenging periods.
Of course, before Revbell, we already took historical occupancy into account, but today it is much simpler: we have a clear visual overview that allows us to set the right prices to attract guests at the right time.
What impact has the RMS had on your organisation and day-to-day operations?
We don’t have a dedicated Revenue Management position, so the Revbell tool saves us a huge amount of time: we spend around 15 minutes a day on it. It supports us in our decision-making.
We review the alerts daily and conduct a weekly review of the reporting for the next three months. This allows us to keep a constant eye on the hotel’s performance, which we couldn’t do before. We used to work with Excel exports, but they are not as effective as the current tool, which allows us to monitor every date, receive alerts as soon as a particular event generates strong demand and better understand our guests’ behaviour.
How would you describe your relationship with the Revbell teams?
It works very well, especially with Benjamin, our Account Manager. Thank you to him for always being there for us. He listens to us and that’s essential: an independent hotel has its own objectives and specific characteristics that need to be taken into account. It is therefore very important to have a team on the other side that listens and is able to provide guidance.
Yes, an RMS is not just for large hotel groups. On the contrary, as an independent hotel, you have even more need for this type of tool, precisely because you don’t always have a dedicated Revenue Management position.
If a hotelier’s goal is to maximise performance, increase their average rate and revenue, they have every reason to invest in a Revenue Management tool. It is a real lever for managing occupancy throughout the year, both during low season and peak periods, in order to have the right price at the right time.
It is certainly an investment for a hotelier, but one that pays off and can only improve the property’s performance.

Before Revbell, the hotel used fixed pricing based on four seasons, with little ability to adjust prices according to changes in supply and demand. This made it difficult to fill the hotel during quieter periods of the year.

The Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire team spends around 15 minutes a day using Revbell to review alerts and conducts a weekly review of the reporting for the next three months. This allows them to continuously monitor the hotel's performance, something a simple Excel export could not provide.
Fermé
Yes. The absence of a dedicated position is precisely what makes an RMS even more valuable for an independent hotel. The tool automates pricing analysis and decision-making, instead of requiring a dedicated person to handle these tasks full-time.
Fermé
No, an RMS is not reserved for large hotel chains. An independent hotel, which often does not have a dedicated Revenue Management position, has even more to gain from using one to optimise its average rate and revenue.

An RMS represents an investment, but it helps manage occupancy throughout the year, both during low season and peak periods, by applying the right price at the right time. According to Chloé Gellé, Front Office Manager at Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire, this investment “pays off” and sustainably improves the hotel's performance.
