Revenue Management is developing in all ticketing sectors: theaters, concerts, museums and sports venues. This sector shares the same challenges as the hotel industry (inventory, distribution) and parks (season tickets, cashier).
An auditorium, like a theater, may initially look like a hotel, with its seating categories, but without rooms. However, these categories remain flexible and can be adjusted. With no length of stay and no marked dynamic pricing, the real challenge lies in predicting events that are difficult to reproduce.
We operate in all ticketing sub-sectors: museums, theaters, stadiums, karaoke bars, bowling alleys, etc. There is a strong demand for RM consulting and tools, and a real desire to improve our skills.
Like leisure parks, the sector is gaining in maturity. An educational effort is still needed to democratize the approach among the general public, with a gradual deployment of RM levers to promote market acceptance. There are excellent prospects in Pricing and Yield.
